Welcome to MacombTownHall.com

The center of activity in Macomb Township, Michigan is the Macomb Town Center. In 2000, the Board of Trustee's in Macomb Township had the vision to create a new Town Center. Located on a one square mile parcel between 24 Mile and 25 Mile Roads, and between Broughton and Luchtman Roads, the new Town Center promises to be the catalyst for a unique Old Town development. It is located in the Township's northeast quadrant .Macomb Township has relocated their municipal offices on a vacant 79-acre parcel.

On Monday, July 24, 2000, a groundbreaking ceremony was held to officially initiate a very important construction project in Macomb Township, a new township hall. The hall is the focal point of a 1.5 acre town square. The new $6 million Macomb Town Hall was built on a portion of 79 acres of township property at the southwest corner of 25 Mile Road and Broughton, located two miles east of Romeo Plank Road. This project has marked the cornerstone of the Macomb Town Center area and has set the tone for the overall architectural theme of this highly anticipated community development. Plans are under way for complementing commercial and residential development to follow the same theme. Officials hope this project will be the catalyst for development of a town square and surrounding area reminiscent of old-time , small-town America. The new 42,000 square foot Macomb Town Hall is a two-story structure atop a "basement" level. The "basement" level is designated for storage but is designed for conversion to future office space if it ever becomes necessary. One of the highlights of the building is the clock tower that rises over the downtown area marking the center of the civic and business activities. The first floor houses the meeting room for the various township boards and commissions, along with, the offices of the Assessing Department, Finance Operations, Building Department, Parks & Recreation Department, and the Treasurer's Department. On the second floor is the Supervisor's Office, Clerk's Department, Elections Office, and the Planning Department.

To add to the overall theme of the Macomb Town Center development and complement the downtown area, a Town Square is located across the street from the front of the new Macomb Town Hall. This area has become a focal point for visitors and has played host to many special community events throughout the seasons such as concerts, art fairs, and holiday festivities.

Private developers are developing the remaining square mile. When completed, the center will feature a mix of four carefully planned neighborhoods that focus on the traditions of neighborhood, style, and proximity to commercial and governmental operations. Entertainment in this turn of the century setting will feature among other things, parks and restaurants within walking distance.

Residential development will be a planned use of single family and multiple family dwellings crafted with architectural care. Approximately 2500 residential units are planned. Developers and builders will be restricted in building designs. All exterior architectural styles, must comply with the Town Center zoning restrictions. The homes will feature rear entrance garages with private drives.
